EPI67 Posted August 17, 2015 Share Posted August 17, 2015 HI guys, new member here. I just purchased a 2012 Epiphone Dot and thought I'd come to the experts to learn more about it. I'm enjoying the guitar thus far and especially it's vintage vibe. The pickups are surprisingly good as Epiphone is not necessarily known for them. I have a Dot that was made in 2/07. I bought it in 01/08. It was pretty "dark" sounding, so after about 8-9 months, I upgraded the p/u's to SD Classics, new harness, CTS pots & switches and it was a totally different sounding guitar. I'm pretty sure yours has different pickups than mine did when new so take that with a grain of salt, if you will. I also recently added the Bigsby. That said, Epi's p/u's have come light years in a short time and I'm hearing good things, although I have no basis of comparison. As always with a lot of things, YouTube is your friend, LOL. brad1 Posted August 18, 2015 Share Posted August 18, 2015 I have a 2006 dot and like it a lot. The only mod I made was putting on a new TUSQ nut. Oh, and I had to get rid of those ugly amber knobs.
