Zentar
This guitar player with Daryll hall's band has what looks like a modified Casino with the Frequensator tail piece and different pickups. Anybody think it isn't a Casino? It is definitely an Epiphone.
jonnyg
Mini humbuckers and ornate headstock. It's a Sheraton.
Zentar
Sheraton has a hard tail but has the flowery headstock. Casino has a floating tail piece but no flowery headstock. Hes sawed in half a Casino and a Sheraton and glued them together?

Zentar
Sheraton II and new pro are stop bar, originals and reissues have frequensator! Thanks Matt. I thought Frequensator was an aftermarket creation. So that is a nearly stock Sheraton? He may even have Epi PU's in it. I got out the Epi 2015 catalog but there is no archtop in the current cat with a Frequensator. For anybody who has never seen a Epi catalog go get one. You will be surprised at how big the Epiphone line is. Since I got my 1st Epi Casino this year I have been amazed at how many times I see the pros playing an Epiphone. Epi is definitely over-represented.
Matt4356
I think the broadway comes with a freq, last years Union Jack sheraton had one and before that the 1962 50th anniversary sheratons! Some of the best epi guits I've played! His is possibly an original 60s or one of the hooker reissues from the 90s!
jonnyg
Try this link http://epiphonewiki.com/index.php/Sheraton All you need to know about Sheratons from 1961 to 2014. Frequensators, stop bars, mini hums, and full sized hums. It's had them all. The only thing it has in common with the Casino is the basic shape, although I always found the Sheraton 'horns' to be a bit more pointy There are also loads of old 60s Epiphone catalogues online. Zentar
As far as hard catalogs: a printed catalog rarely lists all the models. The fact that I don't see a single model with a Frequensator in my 2015 hard catalog is typical of any catalog. How many times have you looked up your guitar and not found one like it on the catalog listing?Union Jack Frequensatpr

Dennis G
Since I got my 1st Epi Casino this year I have been amazed at how many times I see the pros playing an Epiphone. Epi's are a great value. 1/3 of my total collection (electric and acoustic) are Epi's, and they are on a par if not better than some of the "big" name guitars I own. I usually go for my Casino, then Dot, then Wildkat, then "whatever else I feel like".
jonnyg
If you freeze the video at 2:30 you can see what looks like a modern Sheraton headstock. Agreed. And if you look very closely at the same point you'll see that the 'E' at the beginning of the Epiphone logo is of the style that (according to the Wiki page I linked to) only appeared on the Terada models between 1987 - 1994 together with the 'modern style' headstock. If I had to hazard a guess, I'd guess that it was a model made for the Japanese domestic market (JDM) and was never meant for export. But other than it's a Sheraton, who knows? charlie brown
his is vintage...'60's. not sure of the exact year. http://www.tgpwebzine.com/?page_id=1519 The '60's reference was for his Jazz Bass. The Sheraton has no year, or vintage description. The smaller less pronounced, but modern "clipped" cornered headstock, and "script" Epiphone logo, suggests it may be an earlier Japanese (1979-1986 Matsumoku factory) model. http://epiphonewiki.com/index.php/Sheraton CB

charlie brown
Looks like an early 80s Japanese with mini humbucker conversion sweet guitar! Did the early "Matsumoku" Sheraton's ever have (stock) "mini" humbuckers? It seems they went full size humbuckers, on the Sheraton, when production went to Japan, in 1970. So, "a conversion" by the owner (original or not), is probably correct. CB
burchster
No they were full sized humbuckers. The thick black pickup rings indicate it is a conversion. The early ones had a frequensator but later went to stop bar.
