alabama Posted November 7, 2015 Share Posted November 7, 2015 I noticed some guitar fret markers start on the first fret the big split markers and some of them start on the 3rd fret and the dot markers start on the 3rd fret now I just got a new epiphone 500 and the fret markers start on the 5th fret what is the reason for this Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

The industry standard is fret markers on the 3rd, 5th, 7th, 9th, 12th, and so on. My Gibson Les Paul Copper-top has no fret markers at all. Just a naked ebony fretboard.
