rebirth
Was there any Gibson les paul customs in the 70's made with rosewood fingerboards, I know the normal wood is ebony, but in the 70's they did some maple fingerboards aswell i believe? There is no serial number due to a refinish of the neck etc, would you trust this? Any ideas would help me not waste money on it if its not genuine. I have pics of the guitar etc looks genuine and i already own two other gibson les pauls so not easily fooled. Any answers would be appreciated. jakatone
maybe you should try contacting gibson customer service...they could help you out.works for me every time....also,if you have the guitar in your possession, look at the number on the pots....it is possible to date a LP like that
rebirth
Thanks man, I rang them today and they are not sure, have now sent them over pics of the guitar so they can see it. They said they are aware of maple boards but not rosewood although this is a possibility it was a limited run. What Gibsons do you have? I have one custom 81 and a explorer 76 re-issue Also a Jackson rr1 and esp dv8 for my sins he he.
