Hawkesman
Guys - Anyone know what pups my 2011 LP Studio has? I've always assumed 490R/498T, but is this right? Thanks, H.
capmaster
Could also be BurstBuckers Pro. Did you read DC resistances and pole piece spacings?
Hawkesman
Thanks cap. That's what made me ask, because a pal said that they could be BurstBuckers, and you've confirmed the possibility. Are the pole piece spacings not consistent then in the modern Gibson range, regardless of the pup? I kinda assumed they would be. Also, do you know what the resistance would be for both options? I'll dig the multimeter out and give it a go! Best, H.
Ronnie Robinson
You could probably tell just my playing the guitar - the 498t has a large mid range hump very noticeable when played clean and fairly high output. You could take one of the pickup's out and see if there are any markings on the base of the pickup.
saturn
I'm not sure what BBs look like, but here are 490R/498T. If that helps....
Hawkesman
Thanks guys. Next time I change the strings I'll whip 'em out and see.
