Gibson SG Bass model question

I recently purchased a SG Bass which I love almost, but not quite as much, as my Thunderbird. According to the serial number it was manufactured 28th Oct 2005 and is in shiny heritage cherry with dot inlays. I assume it is a reissue bass, that was launched around time, yet it does not have SG on the truss rod cover, although I accept this may have been replaced, however neither does it have the crown symbol on the headstock. I wonder if any one can confirm that this is a reissue bass but one of an earlier run which lacked these two later additions?

Cheers

As far as I know and confirmed by research, the reissue model made in 2005 has the usual combination of silkscreened logo and no inlay on the peghead, and dot markers on the fretboard. SG Basses with trapezoid markers typically include logo and crown inlays on the headstock.

All of my Gibsons it applies to have blank truss-rod cover replacements - I like that, and I can discern them without these inscriptions. [biggrin]

Hope this helps.
