Beaver416
I'm looking at purchasing a 2014 Gibson ES-335 Dot in Pelham Blue. COA says the model number is HB052M and serial number is 12194754. I can't find any info on this model number anywhere on line. Sticker inside guitar says model is "ES-335". Looking for some verification that this is legit. Thanks in advance for the help! Beaver416
Correction: serial number is 12104754
sparquelito
By that serial number, the guitar was made at the Gibson plant in Nashville TN, on July 29th, 2014. Production Number: 454. It's a 'limited edition' model ES-335. Identical to this one: http://www.rainbowguitars.com/guitar/gibson-custom-shop/es-335-dot-pelham-blue-limited-edition/hb052m/gb
Beaver416
That's interesting because the COA says it is a 'Gibson Memphis' guitar?? Are Nashville guitars considered better quality/ craftsmanship?

j45nick
That's interesting because the COA says it is a 'Gibson Memphis' guitar?? Are Nashville guitars considered better quality/ craftsmanship? The label specifies where the guitar was built. If it says Memphis, it's a Memhpis-built guitar. The only modern ES 335 models that have been built in the Nashville shop are the Historics, such as the cherry '59 Historic on the right in the photo below. They say Nashville on the label. The Nashville-built Historics also have a totally different serial number system that starts with a letter rather than a number, followed by a five-digit serial number.
