Sometimes it's obvious and you can tell, but more often you can't tell even looking in person. Brazilian and Indian can look real close to each other. Not sure about the "prototype" description. Don't know what that could mean or how it would apply to this guitar. I would email pics to Gibson and let them tell you what it is. Probably the only way you are going to know.
