Authentic Gibson SG?

Hi,

I have a 2012 Gibson SG bass cherry heritage. With the market flodded with Cibson's I noticed some signs this may be one of them.

1. Their is 3 joints that was glued together along with the neck to make up the body, however, the joints was not sanded down smooth so you can clearly see the seams along with the neck thru joint being in such an angle that is odd.

2. The frets end are rough on the entire neck.

3. electronics are not smooth and noisy.

How can I tell if this is a USA made guitar when all chibson's are stamped with "made in america"?

thanks,

jj

Hello and welcome here.

Could you post some hi-res pics, please? This would help a lot in clearing things up.

Every member here has only 500 kB memory in total for attachments. Therefore it is best you use an account created at a cloud photo provider, upload the pics there and link their IMG data into your post so they will show up.

like Cap says upload to photobucket, and then past the img link here.

one easy way to usually spot a fake, is to make sure the truss rod adjustment is the standard Gibson issue. (Hex bolt)

if it's not, then it's a USA Gibson

if you see a scarf joint on the back of the neck....... not a USA Gibson
