jannusguy2
He was one of a kind. I consider myself lucky to have seen him and worked with him over the years. A real character, a great writer and guitar player, too. RIP.

jedzep
Oh crap...what bad news! 'Last Train To Hicksville' is still on my playlist. Western swing rules! Thanks for the great photo. Hey, they're all songs...

j45nick
I loved Dan Hicks and his Hot Licks. This is one of my favorite songs of his, here performed with Jorma a couple of years ago. Although his style is sometimes called "cowboy jazz", you can certainly hear this one performed by Jorma and Jefferson Airplane. Cowboy jazz? Maybe psychedelic cowboy jazz. bobouz
Everyone, and I mean everyone, should listen to: >> Dan Hicks & His Hot Licks - Original Recordings Had the album back in the day, and bought it again on CD about a year ago. A masterpiece then and now. Give a listen to Jukies' Ball & you'll want so much more. Honest to god, I was playing it just last night on my drive home. Thank you Dan.
