heliosonic
Important information first Serial number and anything printed on the back of the headstock (as it's unreadable in the picture, smartphones and all that): 80775504 SEC MADE IN U.S.A. Hello, This guitar had belonged to my father, so I'm not sure of where it was purchased originally. It has a Gibson hard case so it's seems safe to say it's legit, but hey. So, yes. It does say The Paul on the nameplate but through my couple hours of continuous Googling I can't find one that looks exactly like this. It seems to have the toggle switch in the same place as a Sonex, but no scratchplate or holes where one would have fit. Same with the finish or color, can't find anything really similar. It has Gibson Deluxe tuners with what were white knobs I assume. Also it has clear with black-backed dials as you can see in the pictures. I'm very skeptical about this, as nothing I seem to find matches my guitar. Not that it's going to stop me from playing the everloving crap out of it, but I'm simply curious of any and all information you can provide on it's legitimacy. https://drive.google.com/file/d/0Bw--UAuMfVOocmZXZFEzS3I0aU0/view?usp=sharing https://drive.google.com/file/d/0Bw--UAuMfVOodEswejNDSDdsbmM/view?usp=sharing (if the pictures are not showing, or unreachable then I can try and figure something else out as filesize is too large to upload right out) If further information or pictures are needed in helping me out, let me know what I can do. It seems mine would have been a base model with no scratchplate or toggle label. But, it still plays nice after putting new strings on and a nice cleaning up. I met some The Paul guitars in the early 1980's without scratchplate, but all of them had the toggle-switch "poker chip". One of my pals had one with natural finish and I guess he still owns her. They are nice no-frills Les Paul guitars on a budget and predated the Studio series with that. Keep on rocking her, mate!
