I'm thinking of buying a new amp for my Epi Les Paul standard. Previously I had a Fender Mustang 2, but now I'm looking for a marshall amp. I'll probably start gigging, so is there a good amp head I can get, or should I get a certain combo amp? By the way, I'm hoping to get a grungy/ hard rock tone. Thanks in advance.

the first question is how much you looking to spend.

the DSL series are imports and while they are cheaper, and sound "okay" they don't kill it like the JVM series.

The JVM series are still made in the UK, you could be in the area of $2,500 for a UK Made 2x12 combo.
if you're gassing for the marshall sound, this would scratch that itch. http://www.sweetwate.../detail/JVM210C
