BertisEvil66 Posted May 4, 2016 Share Posted May 4, 2016 Hi what are the exact e-E distance on the nut, and the e-E distance at the bridge (Bridge ABR-1) on an original ES 175D straight from the factory. the reason I ask is that I have bought an used 175D some month ago and discovered that the pre owner has changed the nut and made the slots much wider. therefore during playing the string often "slip off" the neck. this happens on both outer strings. the strings are too close to the fretboard end (hope you know what I mean - sorry for the bad englisch) at the ABR-1 bridge the 6 pcs small metal pieces (where the strings sit on and which are moveable for intonation purpose) also have custom specs and the furrows are not centered Its about 50mm from e-E. Today I have installed a new graph tech nut and a bigsby. the nut now has the approx. dimension as in your post. I moved it a bit to the bass side, so there is more space at the high e string. so I will not slip of the neck during playing. it works great. also the bigsby is nearly 100% tuning stable, thanks to the graph tech nut und proper filing. I post 2 pictures. now the next step is to change the 6 pcs saddle "things" which are custom filed from the pre owner (e-E space approx 50mm) Thank you!! jdgm Posted May 6, 2016 Share Posted May 6, 2016 The way everyone does it is to open a Photobucket account or similar - this gives you lots of free space, you upload your photos to it and then it gives you links which you copy and paste into your posts (right-click mouse). If you are signed in now, press 'reply' to Dave F's post and you will see the url/HTML code for the pictures which he put in. Forum members please correct me if I have this wrong!
