Guitar Modder
I have a set of custom wound old-school PAF style pickups I want to install in my 2004 SGM. It has the 5-pin quick-connect system. How can I simply solder the hot and braid to the pots? I can't find a schematic or drawing showing which lugs to connect with the hot. Picture attached. Thanks! Guitar Modder
I tried to make one of the molex pico-blade connectors. MASSIVE FAIL!
Guitar Modder
Here is Gibson's response: Steve, Unfortunately this system is not compatible with old style pickups, you will have to change the complete wiring harness, pots, jack and switch. Guitar Modder
I got a call from the lead Tech at Gibson. He said I could connect the hot to the outside lug. Does that look correct?
Guitar Modder
Solved. Figured where the hot and ground go, and how to install without soldering to pcb or components!
jdiogon
Hello Can you please explain what you did exactly ? If possible with pictures ? I would like to do the same (put a 5-pin connector on a 2-conductor pickup). Thanks a lot !
