prewargibsons
Hi this beautiful 1907 L! was sold (gifted) to me as a "wall hanger" and I could not believe such a beautiful guitar could be left unplayable. It only had a dull finish, cheap and broken tuners and high and low frets.I sourced some period correct NOS tuners (for half what I paid for the guitar)from a friend that had a huge collection of vintage tuners. I gave the guitar to a local luthier. He said all it need was some fret work, a clean, polish and setup. It came home as it is in the pics and is a pleasure to play. The painted logo is dubious but I have seen another like it. I suspect a previous owner did the job some time in the past 100 years. The only let down was that it came in a much newer case. j45nick
I like it a lot, but I'm not sure about those tuners. The engraving looks almost overly ornate, but this is a period I don't know that much about.
