1991 LP Custom - genuine?

Recommended Posts

Hey guys,

Is it a fake?

I don't believe it is but it's too good to be true otherwise (and you know what they say..!).

I just bought a (used) 1991 "Gibson" Les Paul Custom.

I've checked it out as best I can and believe it is a genuine Gibson LP Custom.

But I'd like some more expert opinion (please don't direct me to MLP forum; I'd rather it be a fake).

The reason I need to check it out further is because it is 25 years old and almost unmarked.

The condition is so good it's unreal (see pic's).

It's either a fake or it's been sitting in its' case underneath someone's bed somewhere for 25 years.

It's normal over here not to get the authenticity certificate, so I can't go by that.

Anyway, here's some photo's (I won't post serial # as I don't want to help the fakers).

For the same reason, I will be more than happy just to receive 'yes' / 'no' answers with no justifications that they might also use.

Thanks for looking and, by the way, for those of you who know me, this is not for me.

I know that it's a 'hefty-lefty' and that I'm a 'righty-tighty';

It will be a gift for my business partner (and best-mate of fifty+ years)'s birthday, in a few weeks time.

I'd rather know if I'm going to be giving him a fake.
