BluesKing777
Always wanted to say that! I did a raggy solo version of Lou Reed's "Goodnight Ladies" on my J45: https://soundcloud.com/bk7-3/goodnightladies77 BluesKing777.

vw1300
I've never heard it played like that - might have to try that myself. I've always liked that song - sounded great!

BluesKing777
Thanks for the replies! I got the words and lyrics off the Lou Reed Songbook, if you want to try that: https://www.amazon.com/Lou-Reed-Songbook-Strings-Words/dp/1575609193 Pretty good book, except they spread the chords/lyrics out a bit much and, for example the track above is spread over 3 pages, I had to either learn it (yuk, last resort!), turn the page quickly (useless while recording, ok for practice) or get the online version from Chordie.com (wrong chords totally). So I learned it and there are a few hesitant spots and we will call it a work in progress.... I came up with the raggy guitar bit - that is NOT in the book! BluesKing777. fortyearspickn
Impressive! Just when I thought I was going to here the 'plunky but not plucky' version I taught myself on the Uke 50 years ago. Amazing vocal and guitar. Thanks!
BluesKing777
Thanks Murph and Forty! I did have a plunkety version on smaller Gibsons, but thought I would try a different approach by using country blues type picking on a J45. BluesKing777.
