Metallica1
I am interested in the SG Dark and Light 7. I know both are limited runs and sold out. Maybe 2017 will have a similar model. What are your thoughts on 7 string? Do you prefer 7 string? Or stay away? http://www.gibson.com/Products/Electric-Guitars/2016/USA/SG-Dark-7.aspx http://www.gibson.com/Products/Electric-Guitars/2016/USA/SG-Light-7.aspx

I really like it and wished I'd picked up a 7 string sooner. Not a big transition from a 6 string. I debated getting a baritone scale length, but since I play mostly in B standard or drop A, the 25.5" scale length of the H-7 works fine for me. I use D'Addario EXL110-7 strings, a 10-46 set with a .59 gauge low B string. I'm not sure if I would like the 24.75" scale of the SG for a 7 string. You would probably want to test drive one to make sure the string tension for the low B on the shorter scale length isn't too floppy, especially if you plan to tune down any. Good hunting.
