Les paul studio fretboard

Style

Recommended Posts

Ebony and rosewood 'board versions were offered on the 'regular' Studio line between 1987 and 1998.

There were also some 'special' Studio models which had ebony 'boards such as the Studio Lite and the Studio Gothic.

As Bence says, Good Luck.

My 2001 Gibson Les Paul Studio copper top features the ebony fingerboard.

Where do you reside, Style?

I have been pondering selling it (not very seriously yet, but I do need some extra cash these days).

I love the ebony fingerboard.

It's good looking and feels just right.

No fret-marking inlays either, which is actually kind of cool.

(There are small dots that Gibson put on the very top edge of the fingerboard, dots that only the player can see).

Studios that came in alpine white finish had ebony boards at least until 2006 (the year of my guitar) and I think it went until '08-'09 or so.

So if you like white you could go that route.

The ebony finish studios may also have come with ebony boards in the 2000's as well but I'm not 100% on that.
