An EB-3

I just acquired an EB-3, that doesn't make me miss Gibson SG Std.'s at all. It plays well, sounds well also, and has a QC, that a fair number of SG Std.'s I've had, didn't have. A far less expensive instrument, that actually has it's frets dressed out of the box. I've had 4003 Rickenbacker Jetglo basses that weren't finished as well as my Epi EB-3 Ebony is. A very nice Ebony finish, without flaws. Way to go Epiphone.

The Epiphone EB-3 is a long scale bass (34"). The original Gibson EB-3 was a short scale (30.5"). Gibson did offer a long scaled EB-3 in the 60's & 70's and it's model name is EB-3L. Why Epiphone calls their long scale copy of the EB-3L an EB-3 is beyond me. I always call it an EB-3L.

Jack Bruced played an EB-3 - SHORT SCALE.
