How to get a good country tone.

Recommended Posts

I recently got into country. Modern style for the solo from Eric Church's Talladega. I want that tone.

Any tips for getting a good country tone?

I have a simple orange amp I am using at home.

Pedal wise I have a Fulltone OCD, Xotic BB Pre amp and a delay pedal.

I guess I need reverb.

You should be able to get that tone with your current setup. I would recommend setting the amp to break up when you dig in hard(fairly clean otherwise), then kick in one of your OD's for leads. The OCD and BB Preamp are both top notch IMO, and either should work great. A delay pedal with the repeat volume set low can work great as a reverb too.

Thanks! I am going to play around with them later see what I can come up with.
