hu3436
Just wondering how good the Epiphone Joe Bonamassa firebird 1 would be against a Gibson firebird 2016 T ? I ask because there's not much difference in price in the UK the Epiphone is £620 and the 2016 Gibson T still available at some shops for £849 ! merciful-evans
I dont know. But I've been told (elsewhere on this forum) that Joe B himself does not use Epis. Ideally it would be best to find a stockist with both, so-as you could try side by side. (PS I heard a Dillion 3 pickup Firebird that sounded great). Hustler
I'd like to try the epi but the banjo tuners would have to go. If I want a balance problem I'll take one shoe off.
kidblast
I've no experience with these Firebirds, but I would expect these new ones to be on par with the rest of the "recent" production batch of epiphones. I have a Swingster (5 years old) and a Sheraton II that I picked up in November of 2015. Previous to that, I have a Broadway and one of the last runs of the Regent archtops. Also my son bought a Tribute Les Paul 2 years ago. All of these are quite good all around. For the money, they are really hard to dismiss as crap. Did they needs some work? yes. Some fret leveling was needed to get the setup right for me, but it wasn't a major issue, (I've been doing this sort of stuff for years, so I can do this myself.) They have improved a lot in the last several years. That all being said, it looks like the Gibson FB is only a few hundred clams more... so..............
