Grace Potter and Joe Satriani - "Cortez the Killer"

I'm with CB on this one. Nothing beats the original spaced out on pot version by Mr. Young. There's just something about it that nobody else can capture except for Crazy Horse with all their sloppiness. I do like the version you posted though with Grace and Satriani.

Here's a great version from Crazy Horse's 1976 tour.

Ya I also prefer the original.

Great song from a great album.

Yep, I'd say Zuma is one of my favourite records of all time and not just because of Cortez, but every song is a gem - Dangerbird, Barstool Blues, Driveback, Stupid Girl & Don't Cry No Tears being standout's for sure (that's nearly the whole 9 songs on the album!...and Lookin' for a Love, Pardon my Heart and Through my Sails are up there too!).

Had to post this one...it's a lot of fun to play along to [thumbup]

Man, Grace sings the hell out of this jam and Stephen Perkins on drums? I respect that they did their own thing with it. How are you going to replicate the ragged sound of Uncle Neil and Crazy Horse?
