sparquelito
We are all opinionated. As humans, we have our likes and dislikes, and very rarely do we agree on anything. But I must say, these two top my list when it comes to guitars that: a. cost a lot and b. do not appeal to me in the slightest Both the Fender Elite Stratocaster Sky Burst and the Gibson Les Paul Silverburst look (to me anyway) like they just stumbled out of a Panama City Beach, Florida air-brush t-shirt shack. In other words, they look unusually cheap and tawdry for such (otherwise) pricey and reputable instruments. And it's really just about the cartoonish paint-jobs, in my opinion. I have no doubt that they are top-quality in fit, finish, and all the important player's details. But the paint schemes just reek of carnival ride tilt-a-whirl garishness. Am I smoking dope here? Is it just me?
glp2012
Well, I don't care for either color, but it wouldn't stop me from owning either one. I mean, I'm not hanging that thing on the wall...

Rabs
Yup.. Just you :P I don't really mind either of them and I quite like the silverburst... Mehh it is what it is.. We like what we like and don't like what we don't like.. What you gonna do? If we all liked the same things, life would be much simpler... but REALLY boring.. StRanger7032
I don't care for the bursts on those, either. Airbrushing a dark color into a much lighter one doesn't seem to work very well.

kidblast
I've seen worse in respect to the strat.. I have never been a fan of silver burst. Just not at all appealing to me.

deeman
I agree with the silver burst. Never was a fan of that. The sky burst isn't too bad. Not my #1 choice but it's not terrible.
Retired
1476842985[/url]' post='1806862']I had to look for more! I like the blue strat, doubt I'd buy it but I think this Les Paul Rocks. Love the way the blues are swirled together and I'm not really a fan of blue guitars but I'd buy that one.
Dub-T-123
:-& Good call on the Firebird X. It's hard to believe something so hideous and stupid could make it all the way through at Gibson. I gotta say whoever worked on that project is remarkably bad at their job. Absolutely excellent at being the worst.
capmaster
Here is my 2011 L6S Silverburst guitar. It came in 2013 at a blowout price, and I couldn't resist adding her to the Antique Natural one of the same model I already had owned then for more than a year. The day before the buy I wouldn't have guessed I'd ever have an instrument with that finish, but she looks quite nice, and a photo can't do her justice: For comparison, here are my 2011 Antique Natural remake and the Natural 1973 L6-S original I bought used: As you might see, I'm a follower of the TP-6 finetuning tailpiece, using eight of these in total. capmaster
I can't see the porpoise in this guitar!! Perhaps adding a piezo bridge and playing this song that I love very much would make sense:
merciful-evans
This is the ugliest LP I can find. The bigsby looks like it shouldn't be there. Add to that the dead caterpillar flame job and its sickbags on standby. Myself? I quite liked the blue strat.

Mr. C.O. Jones
The only thing about the SB Custom I don't like is the price. The Strat may look a tad extravagant to some, but I'm ok with it. I'm much more open to weirdness with Strats, that said my favorites are natural with black pickguard and my #1 choice would be cream. Oh and Cap, two awesome looking beasts you have there! Love both finishes.

sparquelito
What about a nicely aged silverburst Custom? Bence. Now that looks a lot better. I guess it's all in the darker hues. And Cappy, your 2011 Antique Natural remakes and 1973 L6-S original are gorgeous in my opinion. I have always loved natural finishes. :)
