oceantracks
Does the 2017 have a thinner neck? Because I played a 2016 Standard T at Sam Ash recently and loved how it felt as if the neck was somewhat chunkier than I remembered mine having back int h 60s. Are they changing that? Thanks TH
charlie brown
Haven Played a 2017, but the 2016 is reported to have a "rounded" profile, as opposed to a '60's profile. So, the 2016 is probably a bit "chunkier" in that regard. How much so, will vary, even guitar to guitar, somewhat. All My SG's are '60's profile necks, and spec's, and even they differ slightly, guitar to guitar. Nothing I can't get used to, at all. But, it is there, albeit very slight. Cheers, CB

Cheers, CB Certainly felt rounded and I loved it, but then I like big necks. So even though I prefer the pickups on the 17, and the locking tuners, I could always put those on 16 and would rather have then neck I like. Thanks! JerseyRay
2017 have a slim tapered neck, thiner than 2016 model. There is quite a bit of difference in the feel of each, guess it's a personal preference as to what you like better. I'm not sure if every model of 2017 is slim tapered.
