Information needed SG model

Hello to all, I am from Germany and bought me a SG from an American soldier. Unfortunately there came no paperwork with her.

Serial number is 00154487. Can someone give me please give me, when it was manufactured and what the original price was. Or some more info, what technical features it has (I am rookie) I do not know how to upload pics of the guitar here. Thanks, Markus

der Hals Deiner SG wurde am Donnerstag, den 15. Januar 2004 als 487. Instrumentenhals des Tages geprägt.

 

Für das Hochladen von Bildern ist es am besten, ein Konto bei einem Bildanbieter mit kostenfreiem Basiskonto wie zum Beispiel photobucket zu eröffnen und dort die Bilder hochzuladen. Die Verknüpfung der gewünschten, dorthin hochgeladenen Bilder kannst Du dann einfach beim Schreiben in die entsprechende Post ans Forum kopieren. Ob alles geklappt hat, kannst Du mit dem Preview Post-Softbutton in der Mitte unter deinem Entwurf vor dem Abschicken überprüfen (mache ich immer). Wenn alles passt, kommen sie ganz groß 'raus. Das ist besonders wichtig, um ordentliche Glückwünsche zu bekommen! :) Natürlich lieben wir hier auch allesamt Gitarren-Porno, also nackte Gitarren meine ich, ist doch klar! (Im Englischen sagt man interessanterweise guitar porn, obwohl es eigentlich Gitarren-Akte sind, guitar nude photos.)

 

Unfortunately, it is very hard to tell what the original retail price may have been without further informations.

 

The exact model denomination is of importance. Besides the paperwork, it can be read in the pickup cavities. Under the bridge pickup you may find the basic model abbreviation, for instance SGSTD for SG Standard. The neck pickup hides the finish code, for example HC for Heritage Cherry. The missing characters are added by the hardware, e. g. CH for Chrome Hardware. The entire model code would be then SGSTDHCCH1 with the 1 standing for right-handed.

 

Do you know where the pre-owner bought her? My guess would be in the US and that perhaps he has the paperwork at home.

Wow, das ging ja fix! :) Vielen Dank fuer Deine ausfuehrliche Antwort. Die Gitarre ist also aus 2004. Mir gehts vor allem auch darum, ob ich nicht "zuviel" bezahlt habe. Ich habe mitsamt Koffer 600 Euro bezahlt, was meiner Meinung nach okay ist? Er hat sie damals aus den Staaten mitgebracht, meinte er. Sie ist wirklich in einem sehr guten originalen Zustand und er hat sie ueber die Jahre fast nicht gespielt, weil er doch mehr der Fender Typ ist, meinte er.

Ich glaube, der Preis geht in Ordnung, so wie Du die Gitarre beschreibst. Aber hier gibt es ein ungeschriebenes Gesetz: Bilder, oder es hat nicht stattgefunden!

Dann kannst Du auch persönliche Nachrichten verschicken, natürlich auch mit Bildern von Deiner Neuerwerbung. Hier gibt's auch ein Gibson Germany-Subforum, aber dort ist kaum was los, und ich schreibe lieber auf Englisch, um fast alle zu erreichen. Hier sind jede Menge tolle Leute anzutreffen. Bei Whatsapp oder anderen sozialen Netzwerken bin ich nicht vertreten. Eigentlich bin ich netzmäßig außer einem Bildanbieter und einem E-Mail-Konto nur hier!

There also is a Gibson Germany subforum, but there is not much traffic, and I also prefer to post in English to reach next to all the members here. You will meet lots of groovy people on this board. I'm not a member of Whatsapp or any other social web communities. Actually, except for a photo provider and my e-mail account, I'm only here when I'm online!

Now that beats me! :unsure: I researched if there's a minimum of number of posts to be allowed to post to the Instrument ID and information subforum but didn't find one. These exist to my knowledge for the Gibson Lounge and the Epiphone Lounge, I think it's about fifteen posts into other subforums allowing for access to the Lounges.

 

My idea would be you create a topic in the SG subforum and post there to reach fifteen posts. Then any other subforum should be accessible when logged in.

While the Deutsche Telekom was hacked recently, besides others, some Gibson web services didn't work anymore, too. A friend reported of serious problems with his web connection long before the botnet attack was published. I'm not a customer of Deutsche Telekom, so I only found some services on the web were not available while my connection and PC worked correctly.
