I emailed Bill Lawrence to get a little more info on the tar back pickups in my 77 custom sg and tar backs in general and here is what Becky wrote back: Hi Rich. Bill introduced at Gibson in the early 70's and in the pickup industry, sealing pickups with epoxy but we're unfamiliar with this version pickup. Wish I could be of more help.
