What the latest song you've been playing on your guitar?

I'm currently playing with 4 different line-ups, so I've been trying to keep up with all the different set lists. Of course, the different line-ups have some overlapping members and one is an acoustic duo that plays mainly simple 3 and 4 chord songs. I pretty much just learn enough to fake my way through them on my own, and if we get a rehearsal I will work on a specific way to play it with the band.

Some of the diverse songs I've been trying to cram are:

Billy Jean [blush] , Valerie-Amy Winehouse, Honesty-Billy Joel, Uptown Funk, Black Velvet, Takin It To The Streets, Jesse's Girl, Dreams-FM, Black Friday-Steely Dan, Beginnings-Chicago,......

I could go on with more but I should start practicing. :rolleyes:

Well, I'm finally back in a band now after 20 years. Trouble is...they want me to pull my weight and sing a few songs. So far I've been put on notice to sing "Take It Easy" and "Tequila Sunrise" by the Eagles, and "Take It On The Run" by REO Speedwagon. I suck at singing right now, so I have a lot of work ahead...

I'm currently working on Crossroads by Cream. I got the rhythm part down pretty well and working on the solo parts. It's a song I've always liked but just never have taken the time to learn it. It's really fun trying to get the right sound out of my guitar and amp to get it to sound as close as I can and adding a little of my own flair in the song.

I worked on Cold Shot by Stevie Ray Vaughan over the weekend and what a cool groove that song has and his playing is really fun. The rhythm part is down, working on the lead parts this week. It's not difficult and really fun to play.

'Six Blade Knife' from Dire Straits' debut album.

It's a pretty tune and fundamentally simple to play (the improv. noodling is the root of it's appeal!) but for those who look up the 'net for chord sequences a word to the wise;

I looked at a couple and for the chorus section both sites listed Dm, C, (G) G, D but listening to the track it's actually Dm, C, (F) G, D.

Californication, and trying to put something decent in the solo. Last night was better than we've been doing it, so it's getting there. I'd need a wheelbarrow full of drugs to play as bad as the recorded solo.

Californication...

By a really weird coincidence (rude-ish titles; bear with me) I've been listening to some '90s USA-Power-Pop-Rock and have been re-learning some of the fun bits of 'Decadence Dance' this PM. As it happened I listened to the whole of 'Pornografitti' twice through today whilst working and after 'Down-Tools' had a brief Personal reacquaintance with the thing. Good Stuff!

I love Nuno Bettencourt's 'sentence construction'. Absolutely love it. One of the Very Best and unquestionably a Top Drawer chap.

IMO, of course.

I have been working on Juice Newton's Queen of Hearts. Playing the Studio quite often lately, she has been sitting in the closet for too long, I have been devoting much of my attention to the Hummingbird Pro.
