Epiphone Alnico II Humbuckers

Pinch,

I did a lot of research and opinions vary widely on the type of magnets in Epiphone pickups. Last week I called Gibson/Epiphone and the tech told me that all their Epiphone humbuckers have Alnico V magnets and that they don't have any humbuckers with Alnico II magnets. Yet in 2014 they state the the Probuckers have Alnico II. I can't find any magnet info on the Probucker-2 and Probucker-3 pickups either.

So how do I identify a Probucker with Alnico II magnets if found loose out of a guitar?

Thanks for the help!

Ah! I see.

Are AlNiCo IIs generally more expensive, so that they'd like for people to think they're IIs, or something?

I'm not the most pickup-savvy guy, but IIs should be noticeably less hot than Vs, right? Yet the Probucker is designed to be Epiphones version of the Burstbucker Pro. That has Alnico Vs in it.

And the Probucker sounds, to me, like it has about the same output as the Burstbucker Pro.

I'm inclined to think the PBs have Alnico V magnets in them.
