Hey everybody,

I have a question. In a rock band or a normal school band, coordination of the band playing is important right?

I read quite a number of articles and I only found one that's good in telling the importance of teamwork.

Anybody have any other suggestions on how I can work well with my band.

First, welcome aboard. I never played in a band, but did play with my two cousins on top of my mom's garage a couple of times. She has a patio up there. There are lots of folks here that do play gigs a lot so I'm sure someone will be along to commit. But I would venture to say Yes, teamwork is important and for everyone to do their part and be successful. That also takes hard work and lots of practice together to get your timing down.

Many of the skills of harmonious band work are very similar to management/leadership in other walks of life....[thumbup]

Differing skill levels can be dealt with tactfully

Musical affinity is a good starting point

Some bands are dictated by an acknowledged leader....others by democratic consensus.....dry.gif

The drummer is not solely responsible for rhythm.....

Reasonably equal commitment to a band is important....whether total or less than....

Big ego is often needed to get energy flowing.....

Be prepared for friendly arguments and occasional personality clashes....

Take care with health issues.....alcohol, drugs, adrenaline, eat well, etc....
