Victory Pete
Interesting to watch. I worked at Guild in the 80's and had no idea that Gibson might have been an owner.

Victory Pete
I dont think Gibson has any relationship with Fender/ Guild at all.. No they don't, but they almost owned Guild in the late 1980's. Guild is now owned by Cordoba.
dhanners623
Probably a good thing -- for both Gibson AND Guild -- that Gibson missed out on acquiring the company. Watching the video does make me wonder, though: How many hours does Gibson figure it takes to build a J-35 like mine?
bobouz
Saw this video when it first came out, but watching it for a second time reminds me to once again thank Ren for all of his contributions. As he walks us through the rebirth of quality Gibson acoustics, it seems clear that without his presence, the guitars so many of us hold in our hands with enjoyment, may not have otherwise taken the shape and form that they did. olie
Is Ren still at Guild? Someone on another site mentioned that he was no longer there. I haven't seen that mentioned anywhere else so I'm wondering.

I just recently posted this same video on Guild's Facebook page and have not had a post about it there. When I posted it said it was pending approval, no approval yet, interesting. bobouz
After overseeing the transition of Guild from New Hartford to Oxnard, Ren has retired from the company. Production of Guilds at Oxnard appears to be steadily moving forward.

MR GIBS
The video in 2014 had 3 parts. This is part 1. The part 2 was removed soon after it was posted. Did you remember that? Ren Ferguson is a great Master guitar luthier!
