Suspiciousminds
I've just picked up a pair of apparently gibson 490r and 490t pickups to drop in my junior special. Now the 490t measures 14.15 whilst the other measures 8.09 Does this sound right as i thought they both should have similar readings.
capmaster
This DC resistance looks more like that of a 498T.
Roach
curious as to how much and where you picked them up, im looking everywhere but am a lil scared of used because i cannot identify them to be sure im being told the truth of the model... YES MY 498t was 14 - something and my 490r was 8 something too That is normal. ref: the guitar player repair guide Dan Erlewine EDIT: Adding: I still have the magnet from the 498t, if i swap it with the one in the 490t will i be basically turning the 490t into a 498t? Or the coils are wound more on one than the other, id imagine?
