wmedders
I saw this guitar and have never seen this particular headstock before. It is on a white ES 175 body. Is it legit?
jdgm
Difficult to say without more and better pix. If it is legit, obviously it has been heavily customized for the player whose name is on the TRC. Eddie DeSantis? A 175 would not normally have gold tuning keys. Hawkesman
Looks like a legit custom to me, but I'm far from being an expert on 175s (or anything else, come to think of it!). Do you have the serial number, and have you checked it? Found this too... http://obits.reviewjournal.com/obituaries/lvrj/obituary.aspx?n=eddie-de-santis&pid=131429377 If there is a connection it could add to its value. H. L5Larry
The only thing I can tell you, from one headstock photo, is about the paint. The discoloration of the white paint shown IS typical of one of the whites used by both Gibson and Fender, during the period they were both using DuPont "Duco" lacquer paint. As these paints were also readily available on the retail market from any auto paint store or body shop, this custom paint job is not necessarily from the factory.
