got a question for all the gibson experts out there
have recently purchased a custom shop 57 reissue goldtop
i have researched custom shop numbers mine being 7 5XXX
i know the 7 stands for 57 reissue and the 5 for year and xxx for production number that year
apparently gibson started this numbering in 1993
i would like to know how to tell if this is a 1995 or 2005 build
i think it is a 2005 build but can't find info to assure me its not a 1995
any help much appreciated

thanks ben

Welcome. I'm no expert but have you tried contacting Gibson Customer Service? When I bought my Gold Top, I sent them an E-Mail with the serial num. and they sent me back the information of what I wanted to know. They will tell you what that serial number was used on, the date it was made, and that price it sold for in that year. Gibson customer service is 1-800-4 GIBSON or Bob Burns was the guy that responded back to me.
