EJ160E

I was just pulling out a number of guitars, one of which was my EJ160E Lennon signature. I love this guitar! You can't get these anymore, although you can get the same guitar, "limited edition," without the Lennon sig. This is one lesser-expensive Epiphone that seems to have increased in value by about 50%, seeing how a couple sold on ebay for up in the $600 territory. I can't believe I haven't yet had a photo shoot with my pristine condition EJ160E, just drooling over the ad photos, which looks like it still had the plastic on the pickguard....

I have a 2005 EJ160e (Korean made)that I love. Did not love the pickup/electronics - never could get a decent sound, so I had a Fishman Matrix Infinity undersaddle pickup installed, leaving all original electronics in place for looks. Fishman does the job in a big way. Just played a 35 minute set last night with a band doing Beatles stuff at a legendary small venue in NYC. Sound crew ran my guitar signal to a DI box rather than amp. Sounded great. Playing rhythm guitar stuff on my EJ160 - fun imaging JWL playing those songs way back when. I have some high end Martins that I love, but I'd never sell my Epi (feel the same way about my Korean-made Epi Casino). Yours looks beautiful.

I noticed that Epi makes an "Elitist" version of the Texan. This was surprising to me b/c I thought all of the Elitist offerings by Epi were electric guitars, didn't know they made any acoustic Elitist guitars.

...you'd better have deep pockets, though...I looked at the price....OUCH!!! It's kind of like trying to by a McLaren...if you have to ask about the price, it's too much.

Still...I'd like to hear one. I already own one $4,000 acoustic guitar, not sure I need a second.

Cheers!

In the mid 2000s, there was an Elitist J-

45, J-200, two versions of the L-00, the Texan, plus the Paul McCartney Signature Texan. The current Elitist Texan (having a nitro finish) is a version of the latter, sharing all the same specs save for the signature. The other Elitist acoustics had poly finishes. These were excellent guitars.
