Thanks for that Rabs. I toddled off down the YouTube rabbit hole of Rainbow for quit a while thanks to you. That guy had some pipes and that guitar player fella was pretty good too.

And yeah its odd cos they were so good yet Rainbow probably doesn't come up as much as you think they may do with the talent involved and certainly not in my play list (I may have to remedy that)... Dio really was just something else.. Its hard not to like it :)

i love dio and all his stuff.

but when people mention rainbow i think of ritchie blackmore, one of the coolest guitar players who ever lived.

right up until he quit rock and roll to play green sleeves, that is.

I liked Rainbow when I was a kid - my brother got me into them.

Much as I love RJ Dio's work, this was probably my favourite - Blackmore a'la Bach.

Though for some reason when I hear it I always visualise Brian May pondering 'ah yes, why didn't I think of that?'
