SmokeyGhost
I was playing my J-45TV last night and an odd thing struck me. I'm able to play barre chords way more easily on it than I could achieve on the lower priced guitars I once had. I really don't know why as the others were all OK in many respects. It's got me thinking if this could be, but probably not as it's also a matter of technique I guess, why after a period of time many gravitate to higher end gits? Highly likely it's just my mind playing tricks, being in a better mood or the Sun being in the right quarter in conjunction with Mars.
fortyearspickn
A skinnier, more ergonomic neck on your '45? I doubt cheapo guitar makers care any more about playability than tone.
djw171
Congratulations on your acquisition. I am sure you will enjoy it for many years of playing. I kept the pickguard on my J-45TV. Many don't like it (as much as I dislike the guard on a 'Bird which is why I won't buy one) but I tend to work on the basis of that's how it comes, so that's how it remains. I'm the same re the Hummingbird. I just cannot get used to the pickguard. This is a nice alternative: http://www.guitarcenter.com/Gibson/Hummingbird-Pro-Acoustic-Electric-Guitar-1273888006284.gc
