Bigsby Tremolo

Yesterday, I bought a 1999 Epiphone Sorrento. It is a thinline hollowbody similar to the Casino but with a single cut. I want to replace the tailpiece with a Bigsby but I can't figure out if I need to

 

install a B60 or a B30. They look identical to me. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Came out just fine: I was under the impression that the Sorrento and Casino were full hollowbodies with no center block...How does the Bigsby attach if there's nothing but the top of the guitar for the screws?

The B-30 is shorter than the B-60. A B-60 will not work on a Sorrento, as the break angle is too shallow. A B-60 is designed for an archtop with a floating bridge on a wooden base --- not a bridge mounted to the top like an ES-335 or Casino.

 

I have a Sorrento that came with a B-3 (same design as the B-30), and it works ok as long as I use fairly heavy strings.

 

The optimal Bigsby for a Casino or Sorrento is the B-7 or B-70, as pictured above. The extra roller bar keeps a good string angle over the bridge --- that's exactly the type of guitar the B-7 was designed for,

Just checked in (not feeling too well these days) but can't answer your question. I had my luthier install the Bigsby, and figured if it was good enough for the Beatles, well...
