I am not sure about 3/4" cap but the Epi Tribute Plus is said to have a thick maple cap + veneer. Older Korean Epi Les Paul models (1990s) often had quite thick caps (easily 1/2" plus) but it was always variable re the thickness with some guitars having caps much thicker than others. iankinzel Posted April 13, 2017 Share Posted April 13, 2017 Most of the Korean LPs have veneers as well, unless they were some sort of special run. Official specs on standard models in the MIK era generally varied from mahogany to alder. As mentioned before, the Tribute series LPs all have 3/4" maple caps, and the same is true for the set neck Slash & Joe Bonamassa models. The Lee Malia signature model is unclear - normally Epiphone's site states when a maple top is a veneer (eg LP Standard Plus Top Pro), but the Lee Malia model is listed as just "maple."
