Suspiciousminds
My midtown has a couple of laquer finish cracks along the neck join. Theyve always been there and havent got any worse so should i be concerned or is there something that can be done about it?
kidblast
nah.. wouldn't be worried about them if I were you. I have a 2004 elitist Chet Atkins with a similar finish fault at the neck pocket. Hasn't moved, changed or been a problem in 13 years. short of a fill/refin, not sure what can or needs to be done. possible a drop and fill with a thin viscosity super glue then buffed out would seal it, appears 100% cosmetic .. -- IMHO of course.. Suspiciousminds
Ok thx for the info. Its not visible on the bottom of the neck join, just in those 2 areas.
kidblast
I'm no expert luthier,... but think you're all set, if it happens that they move/grow over time, you may want to have it checked. I just think it's a small fit & finish flaw.
Pinch
Looks like finish cracks to me. But I can see why it bothers you. I wouldn't worry about it, though. Nitro will crack, period.
