Tijs Kong
Hi there, I bought an ES165 with a Bigsby on it and I consider replacing the Bigsby with a Gibson 52' Les Paul Trapeze Tailpiece that I have. I know there's a similar tailpiece on the ES295 which according to my information has the same body as the ES165/175. Any ideas if this would work? Cheers! Twang Gang
Not sure - suggest you measure the string spacing coming off the bridge and see it matches up with the tailpiece dimensions. Also is the tailpiece long enough for the body of the guitar to reach? I think the distance between the bottom of a Les Paul to the bridge is less than that same area on a 165 but I'm not that familiar with an ES165. powerwagonjohn
I have a ES-225 with this tailpiece and I agree with TG as I think the tail piece for the Les Paul guitars is shorter. But these were called a Les Paul tailpiece as Les designed it so it depends on what guitar it is off. I like the tailpiece on my 225 it gives the guitar a unique feel and playability. Thanks John
