What to do?

I can not decide on getting a Casino or a Sheraton 2. SO I have hit on a not so original idea. Both. Do a lot of you own both or is that quite a bit of overkill to own one of each. I guess what I am saying is do they duplicate each other quite a bit or is there really a point to having one of each? On a largely unrelated subject does anyone know what year the Casino and Sheraton were introduced? I am real curious to know if the Casino predates the Sheraton.

I owned both at one time and got rid of the Sheraton. There is nothing wrong with owning both, I have a Riveria and a Casino, both with P90s. Both your Sheraton and Casino will have their own distinct tones due to construction and pickups. Enjoy your guitars, both are fine instruments.

I had a Sheraton (Korean) a while back which was beautifully built....

It would have needed a substantial P/U upgrade to inject some character into the sound....

Also played several Casino's and a Peerless Songbird

Currently have an ES330 which is the USA equivalent to the oriental Casino offerings...

They are very different guitars, so not at all redundant to have both. The Casino is very light, fully hollow, with P-90 single coil pickups. The Sheraton is semi-hollow, so heavier, with either full-size humbuckers or mini-humbuckers, depending which version you get.

They sound quite different, so having both gives you a wider tonal palette.

I'd have to agree. I don't have a Sheri, but that's only because I have a highly modded Dot, so I think that would be somewhat redundant. I do have a 2010 Elitist Casino, and have to agree that the Sheri and Casino are two different animals, as it were.
