Spend a couple hours this week at home with it and used it for a few hours of Klassik Rokk tomfoolery last night. Carl Martin Quattro. Compressor, two overdrives, chorus, and echo(delay). Pretty much what you need and nothing you don't. Quiet, smooth switches, solid and substantial. Great compressed cleans which I need, overdrives very usable and with some more twiddling I'll get it better. I've wondered how those babies worked. it is like ya said, everything ya need, nothing ya don't... if I didn't have two pretty reliable and well setup pedal boards (nice to have a spare ya know)..
