Alright enough of the 1500 pages of "Song Association" here is something EXCITING - guitar porn

Arrived today and it's a keeper. Flawless build by Custom Shop, almost perfect set up out of the box, just a couple strings needed intonation and Bridge Pickup bass side height a little off. Plays great, sustain for days. Action actually a little lower than Custom Shop specs, I may raise it a little (never done that before with a new guitar - always had to lower it). Has a Richlite board, but if I didn't know that ahead of time I would probably think it was Ebony. Not sure about the black knobs, maybe gold or amber?? Photos don't show it well, but pickup covers are gold (look chrome or nickel in photo).

As RCT would say - tonight I'll play this, and tomorrow and tomorrow night and Sunday....... [laugh][flapper]

Yes very nice looker! [thumbup] [thumbup]

Gibson don't much like black switch tips do they? I always think switch tip should be same colour/shade as knobs and surrounds...

But with this guitar the knobs if amber might go better with the scratch plate (and the rest of it) IMO.... :-k

I don't like 'em big normally, but I'd hit that! [thumbup]

They aren't very big. About an inch or less all the way around bigger than the body of a Les Paul, thickness is about 1.5 inches to a Les Paul's 2 inch thickness, and this one weighs in at just a hair over 6 pounds. I find them a little more comfortable to play than LP mainly due to the weight. Try one if you can find one - you might be surprised how much you like it.

Thanks for all the positive comments guys. I know if y'all like it I made a good choice.

I have four gold top hat knobs on my LP Lite, and 4 gold speed knobs that I took off of something, so I might try one of those sets on it. I could put the black ones from this onto the LP which is ebony. But for now I think I'll leave it as is and concentrate on playing it. [biggrin] [biggrin]

Outstanding! Beautiful choice. I have an Antique Natural ES-335 Dot Re-Issue. The Antique Natual in flamed Maple is absolutely stunning. I can only imagine you will love yours as much as I love mine. Enjoy!
