The monel strings are the perfect string on this one, shedding all the brass and bringing the thump in spades. Put a set of DR Sunbeams on it yesterday just to check my ear........they came off today.........monels are the ones for this 45. Maybe it's the red spruce top, I dunno. Gotten many "holy cows!" at the various open mic stages.........works for me too! It's just the right guitar for my style of play..........so much so that I have considered moving the Hummingbird, but for now it's good to have a fine backup. Shine on you crazy diamond!
