Buc McMaster
Some may recall the capo review I posted some weeks back.......or not. Anyway, I resolved to make friends with my Elliot/McKinney capo as I very much like its' construction. Previously it took what seemed to me to be an inordinate amount of tightening to be effective but with continuous use this has changed for the MUCH better. It now snugs up very quickly and therefore is easily repositioned. After considering this I have come to the conclusion that the difference between now and then is the compression of the leather pad on the neck cradle. When new this pad stands quite proud on the cradle and I believe it was the required compression of this leather making it seem difficult to apply to good effect. The leather pad is now noticeably thinner, having been left buttoned on the neck for days on end, and does not require excessive tightening to be effective..........who knew a capo had a break-in period! It is now my go to. That is all.
