Help with identifying Gibson Les Paul

Recommended Posts

Hi guys, and thanks to the guy who accepted my account!

This is my first post, so please bear with me.

I bought this Les Paul Classic, "Honeyburst" a while ago from a guy who I used to work with a long time ago. He doesn't fully know when he bought it, but he thought he bought it in -06 from another guy who had it for some years, and was the first owner of it. I really enjoy playing on it, but I can't seem to find anyone like it because the first owner said it was an -04 apparently, so I need your help.

I have some pictures of it here, but made some alternations myself to it.

They have changed the humbuckers to Seymour Duncan SH-4 JB and a SH-2n and installed a push push-pot to be able to split the humbuckers. I did clean up some of the cables of the previous owner inside the body. It seems he had swapped the toggle switch also to another one.

The plate for the cable has been swapped to a metal one also..

Known specs:

The serial is: 033708

Model: Gibson Les Paul Classic "Honeyburst."

Thanks in advance, hope I'm not grinding to many gears or so..

Best regards,

Hi Jesper;

It's a 2003 Classic by the serial, would have had 496R and 500T pups stock (hot ceramics) some people like 'em others not so much. Apparently someone along the way feel into the second category and swapped in the Duncan's.

Looks good, always liked the Classic's.

Enjoy it!

Hi Johnny,

Thank you very much for your reply! I even got those humbuckers with the guitar in a bag, so I have all the original parts to it still.

Best regards,

Jesper L
