Some help needed

JRS11

Recommended Posts

hello all. I walked into a guitar shop and saw a Chinese made SG with a Custom Shop sticker. I am not sure of model, called and got serial number after I left. I cannot make sense of it. 311553661

Epiphone CS was unable to help.

It has 2 P-90's, condition is VG. Slim neck. Cherry. Asking $250 but negotiable.

Set neck, did not take pics so do not remember tuners or toggle switch color, whether tan or butterscotch.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

BB

Thank you, the shop gave me the number over the phone, I do believe it is a refurb.

A refurb really has little resale value. A refurb should be about half price of new and a used refurb should likewise be less than a regular used. They are hoping for a sucker.

Thank you, much appreciated. So what would it be worth, $150 or so?

Thanks, going Wednesday.

I have an instrument also arriving here on Wednesday, with the case too. Does that thing have a case or bag with it too ? Like I say, look it over real good, check each and every fret for "dead" spots, fret wear "low" spots, no "sprung" frets, no truss rod problems, cracks at the neck to body, and the nut area...tuners work ok...look "down" he neck to see if there is any "bow", controls and switches all ok...just a few simple things... let us know whats up mellow.gif thanksmsp_thumbup.gif

Maybe a bag, maynot the right one. I am pretty sure I woll not buy it but want to look it over. If it was a Sorento it would be harder to walk. I love p-90's, love the Casino Coupe, but nothing like thr 1960 ES330 that I sold.

The Epiphone Sorrento I have is exceptional.. I basically play blues based stuff, acid jazz improv and the like, sound effects experimental...I dig the Sorrento...just the right amount of...whatever it is....mojo...I guess msp_thumbup.gifmsp_biggrin.gifmsp_thumbup.gif

I put the Special through a Vox as well as a Tele and a Standard. Fender feel so different for me put ok, the tone did not gra me, same with ths Standard but those P-90's on the Special were so great, better than my casino. Did not buy, $250, no wiggle room, on consignment
