MorrisrownSal
This is an ambitious one... because there are a lot of words... and a lot of words per measure. Took like ten takes. Hope you like it. https://soundcloud.com/user-594924252/new-york-new-york
Buc McMaster
This is what a guitar and a voice are for. Very well done, Sal.......excellent, sir. Tune like this is all about breath control.......pulled it off like a pro. Bravo!
blindboygrunt
Always wanted to do this song. Heard Ryan slowing it right down at a piano in his solo shows and wasn't sure that it worked as well Yours is pretty good though , might steal that one too Sal
rbpicker
I had not heard this song before (dwell under a rock), so I was all set for some Liza or Frank. Good song and great job with it, Sal. Wow, lots of words is right. Ambitious project. Roger

MorrisrownSal
thanks fellas. this song has become a 9-11 anthem of sorts, as the initial video was filmed with the twin towers in the background just before 9/11/2001. FYI I did it using the "jackson browne" tuning - where the A is tuned down to a G. I like this tuning!

Lars68
A great song in its original version, and a great song in the Sal version. I would surely break my swedish tongue trying to make all those words fit. Lars

62burst
Thanks for that, Sal. Not a big alt tuning guy (hard to ask everyone to go to an alt tuning), but that one's simple enough- 'will give it a try. That was great. I really enjoyed it. Today's my birthday and that was a beautiful if unintended gift. Red 333 Happy birthday to you, Ralph- hope we don't have to wait 'til Christmas to hear/view one of your beautifully produced numbers. dhanners623
I'll echo what everyone else is saying. Great reading of that song. Playing and vocals are superb. I love being exposed to all the talent on this forum.

Jinder
Wow! absolutely love this Sal. I'm a big Ryan fan and this is a wonderful version of NYNY. In many ways I prefer this to the original which has always felt like an overly busy production job to me. Your vocal delivery has a great resolute fragility to it which really adds something magical to this song. A bit of a Steve Goodman vibe there, if you don't mind me saying so. littlejohnny
Thanks Sal, really a great and inspiring version of a favorite of mine, used to play the song with my band based on a life version of Mr. Adams himself, best version of this song imho, check it out, sorry no acoustic content there:
