The guitar is absolutely perfect. The setup & action were very professionally done. The fit & finish drop dead flawless. The only thing I had to do was remove the plastic film off the pick guard and back plate - and tune the guitar. The Burstbucker pups are absolutely K-I-L-L-E-R. :o

When it got here earlier I was just going to shoot a few pictures and then go try it out. Two hours later after I became an instant ROCK GOD - I took some pics to share. Yes I put the amp in there too because the tone was just [drool]

I also included a picture of the Gibson guitar maintenance tool they included with the swag. Very cool & useful accessory! They also included a black leather Gibson guitar strap & a Gibson polishing cloth. These guitars are absolutely worth every nickel. Perfectly balanced. Beautiful wood grain and a very polished very slick finish. Beautiful. It's been a very good week [thumbup]

Gotta go play some more. Thanks for reading.

Looking good, glad you are happy with it and the QC was spot on.

Funny about the case candy - seems Gibson USA includes all that stuff (I got strap, cloth, tool with a Standard I bought in January), but I spent twice as much on a Custom Shop guitar and got a warranty card

Anyway enjoy that thing it looks great [thumbup]

Having never played one myself is it two volume controls and a master tone or the other way around?

Love the guitar, but the main thing that catches my eye is your Gibson amp. They are so hard to find here in the UK, but I'd love to try one. The Goldtone line they did looked so nice, but I've never even seen one here except for the odd one on ebay that you have to travel 200 miles to see.

You must be up to 100 guitars by now? You have some beauties [thumbup]

Congratulations, that's a cool guitar.

Mine is a 2008 just about the year they stopped making them on this color for a while.

Mine has the superflat neck profile. 50s/60s blend the specs said.

I'll be interested to read the specs on this model.

What's your verdict on the torrified granadillo fingerboard?

I read up on that fretboard wood before I ordered the guitar. The opinion seemed to be that it tends to be slightly harder and denser than rosewood & that the tone can produce a little extra chime. It's difficult to know if it's just that or the combined Burstbucker pups but I can tell you I love it. I'm old school & it was a deviation I have not taken with Gibson of which the Rosewood & Ebony fretboards have served me well for decades until I bought this guitar. I still have no interest whatsoever in that Richlite composition material whatsoever - but the Granadillo suits me just fine. It feels great! [thumbup]

It is Volume 1, Volume 2, and Master Tone from top to bottom. The sweep on the Master Tone sounds wonderful at every setting. This was very well thought out & tweaked by the crafstmen that built her. This is the Gibson company I love. [love]
